I'm a Red Delicious kind of guy. They are cheap,48 cents a pound, and taste like an apple should taste.

Green ones are too tart, but fine in a pinch.

Galas are #2 on my list, though more expensive.

Heres question for everyone around the country and world,How much does a pound of apples cost where you live?

pink lady apples are my fave too (hmmm... imagine
that). i love green apples too. i like a good
crisp apple... nothing gay and soft. galas are
good too... though i wish they'd create a hybrid
making the galas about the size of a cantelope.

as for the slicer... i agree with zela. only
rarely do i preslice an apple prior to eating
it. i really like eating it like it should be.

i will grab a knife and slice it if i don't
feel like dealing with it... but only on rare
occassions.

also.... your slicer won't do well with oranges...
in fact, it would be quite amusing to see you
do it. i suppose it could work if the orange
is hard/firm... but i don't really eat navel
oranges... so i don't do all that shit.

as for the price per pound... naturally it
depends on the variety... for my pink ladys
they are prolly around $0.98 - $1.12 a pound.

Sliced apples!
326812

A while back I got an apple slicer just like the one shown in the picture and man...it rocks! It makes eating my daily apples SO much more pleasurable. I love it!

Also, while we are on the subject of apples...what kind does everyone like?

I'm not a fan of green apples, but I'll eat one if it's all that's available. I usually pick red apples, but here lately have been turned on to the Pink Lady variety.

I'm also wondering if my apple slicer would work on other fruits like oranges or pears or peaches or pineapples or watermelons or canteloupes or chocolate bars.

Must experiment.

Sounds about right Shatzy on that price quote. My sister who lives in Seattle was complaining about the price they charge for apples over there compared with what she paid when she lived on the east side of the state in Spokane."We're the apple state for Gods sake" she would say after ploping down her hard earned caish for some apples.

Another thing...I eat the WHOLE apple, cept the stem.I mean I eat the core and all,..its all the same cept crunchier. It grosses people out for some reason

when you posted that they were 48 cents a pound, i refrained from posting how much i pay for apples cuz i thought i was getting screwed or something.

we should set up some sort of operation to smuggle down apples to the south.
